Absolute Quality has expanded its work helping organisations measure, understand, and reduce their carbon footprint. Led by consultant Ryan Doyle, the company provides guidance that helps clients make sustainability part of everyday work and long-term planning.
Ryan said: “We work with clients to see where their biggest carbon impacts are and put practical steps in place to reduce them. The aim is to make sustainability part of daily decisions so improvements last and create real change.”
The programme began three years ago when Absolute Quality reviewed its own digital carbon footprint as part of a net-zero plan. The company checked emails, cloud storage, video calls, and other digital activities to see how they created emissions. This work became the starting point for helping clients do the same.
Absolute Quality now helps clients reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Scope 1 is direct emissions from things the company owns or controls, such as vehicles and on-site heating. Scope 2 refers to indirect greenhouse gas emissions from the generation of purchased energy consumed by the organisation.
The programme also looks at water use, fuel, waste, paper, and other resources. A key part of the service is a carbon calculator, which helps clients measure and track emissions across different areas. The service presents results in a clear and memorable way, so clients can see the impact, stay engaged, and maintain improvements. For example, Absolute Quality shows how much carbon is used to heat a sauna or how many trees are saved by using less paper.
The service focuses on simple, practical changes that can be done every day. This can include reducing emails, checking energy use, and reviewing suppliers’ sustainability claims. For example, one client wanted to use 100 percent renewable energy but discovered their cloud systems were not fully renewable. Absolute Quality helped them trace suppliers and understand the full picture.
Ryan said: “Every client has a different journey to reduce their carbon footprint. We help them see their impact clearly and put practical solutions in place that everyone can follow.”
Since the programme began, more than a dozen clients have taken part. The work helps organisations build sustainability into their culture, make real improvements, and meet environmental ISO standards, with steps to make sure results last.
