Gosforth-based travel company, Travel Bureau, has strengthened its position in the marketplace and secured its long-standing success by upgrading its internal management system with the help of Absolute Quality Consultancy & Training.
The independent travel company, which was set up nearly 60 years ago and now employs 15 people, has successfully transitioned to the latest version of ISO 9001, the internationally recognised quality management standard.
The upgrade means that they have been recognised for their commitment to following best practice principles in quality and clearly demonstrates that they are continually monitoring and managing risks across the whole business.
Joint Managing Director, Anne Bromley, said: “Embracing the standard has allowed us to manage a number of complex risks the business was facing to remain compliant with various regulatory and travel industry requirements.”
Travel Bureau specialises in offering tailor-made luxury holidays alongside a corporate management service. The company has successfully traded since 1961 and has negotiated turbulent market conditions over this duration. The recent upgrade of their management system has provided a comprehensive principles and guidelines to safeguard its continued success by complying with a raft of legal requirements.
Anne said: “We revised our business model to ensure that we meet new legislation set by the Civil Aviation Authority and the recently introduced General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
“We have also put in place a robust policy relating to processing payments for airline bookings to ensure it’s compliant with requirement set by IATA (International Air Transport Association) and revised the way we process payments according to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.”
